Pinot Noir

2024 Vintage

The 2024 vintage at Laurel Bank was generous and pleasantly straightforward. Our Pinot Noir fruit quality was excellent, and yields about average or a bit above. This vintage includes all our estate Pinot blocks, including Merton. The latter was an exception for yield, deemed to be insufficient to be made into a separate wine.

Deep magenta colour, quite dense. Perfumed, spicy nose with red berry fruit aromas. A melange of fruit flavours is right up front on palate entry; red currants, black cherries and plums. An elegant frame of ripe velvety tannins support the rich fruit and balance the wine. Persistent and long, the wine finishes with a gentle savoury tang. It has the charm and grace to be a wonderful drink right now, and the power and structure to develop more complexity over the next 10+ years.
