Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir bottle

2007 Vintage

Deep colour. Youthful nose with fresh cherries and raspberries, but smoky oak and nutmeg characters lurk in the background. The initial thrust of the palate is savoury, with hints of warm spice, nutmeg and liquorice, followed by intense cherry as the predominant fruity character. Stunning balance, big and round but with supple tannins giving grip and mouthfeel. Elegant and long.

2008 Vintage

Complex nose of cigarbox, salami and smoky oak, along with dark berry fruits. Big palate, full and rounded. Silky tannins come in early but are balanced with a mix of sweet fruit and savoury characters. Powerful flavour profile and lingering finish. Goes well with dishes with a hint of sweetness, try it with butterfly quail in a sour cherry sauce. There is a great recipe floating around here involving crispy duck breast with mango, pomegranate and endive. Email us if you are interested.
